Ministering to the heart of people and empowering them with knowledge has been a driving force in the life of Tikoya Lanier Nwabuisi since she was a child. It was evident at an early age that teaching was a God-given gift; she began tutoring and teaching when she was only in the second grade. Just a few years later at the age of 14, she accepted the call to ministry and has been teaching and ministering to the needs of God’s people ever since. From counseling and teaching to singing, writing, and praying, the past twenty-eight years have been full of countless lives that have been touched, impacted, and changed for the better by the grace of God and for His glory alone.
She and her husband, Dr. Ikechi Nwabuisi, provide resources and assistance for families and parishioners in both Liberia and Nigeria. Their church, Holy Ghost Consulate Church, has presence in Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, and Gambia, with plans to expand as the ministry spreads to some parts of Asia and the Middle East, particularly India and Pakistan. Although there is a global reach, they stand firm on the fact that there is no distance in the Spirit, and no one is beyond His reach.
As a Mental Health Trauma Coach, Tikoya has made it her aim to provide people with avenues and a safe space to address root issues instead of dwelling in symptoms that are at the surface. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling to further broaden her skills and increase her effectiveness. In all of these endeavors, the ultimate goal is a continual pursuit of God’s Presence. It’s relationship over religion any day!
Tikoya and her husband Ikechi, are the proud parents of two beautiful children, Chimamanda and Royalty Nwabuisi and strive to serve the Lord and His people with all of their hearts.
